Cup of coffee on Disabled Access Day
Visit date:
Overview
Caffè Nero at Eldon Square is just near one of the entrances to the shopping centre. There is level access into the shopping centre and also into the shop. I went on Disabled Access Day and claimed my complementary coffee.
Transport & Parking
Great public transport as it's in the Eldon Shopping Centre and lots of buses stop close by. There is also a car park attached to the shopping centre, although I didn't park there so I'm unsure on how many accessible parking bays there are.
Access
The shop is set over two floors, only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. The access into the shop is level (there is a glass door), and the counter is on the right. The counter is fairly high up. The ground floor of the cafe is a strange shape! It gets quite narrow in one point and then opens up again into a bigger area. There is a range of seating both at tables and sofa/armchair seating.
Toilets
There was an accessible toilet on the ground floor but I didn't use it.
Staff
Staff were friendly - it was a busy Saturday and a long queue of people!
