Overview
Level access into the cafe. Staff were helpful and would have brought coffee to our table. The let down was the accessible toilet where the grab rails were in the wrong places and it was filthy! If they sorted this it out it could be great.
Transport & Parking
Lots of buses stop at the bus stop outside the Usher Hall, about 150m away. There is a disabled parking bay on Cambridge street (Traverse side of the Usher Hall). Tricky to park on Lothian Road if you needed to be nearer to the venue than that.
Access
Straightforward level access. Doors are quite heavy but staff came to open them when they saw us coming.
Toilets
It could be a good accessible toilet but grab rails were in the wrong places! and they were seriously unclean!
Staff
Staff were very friendly and helpful when we visited.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I called and tried to reserve a space as there were 2 wheelchair users in our group. The lady on the phone was very firm that that was something they couldn't possibly do, which I thought was a bit disappointing in the circumstances. I think this could be a fantastic accessible coffee shop if they sorted out the loos and offered to be a bit flexible to reserve a space for those who really need one.
