Overview
Prior to a Christmas carol concert I visited this venue with a man in his 30s who is able bodied and has learning difficulties, most notably autism. We rarely experience physical access difficulties when out and about, although Burger as I remember offers pavement level access and the floors are smooth and flat, very stylish in fact. I did not have to think about wheelchair access regarding toilets, so can't comment properly in this respect. However I can say the staff we encountered were quite lovely, and dealt with my friend's quirks with grace and elegance. They were very respectful and if I was supporting a person in a wheelchair I'd certainly give them a call with a view to going back there. They are about 100 yards from the tram stop in Edinburgh's West End at Shandwick Place.
Transport & Parking
Works well if you take the bus or tram - could involve expensive parking and a bumpy ride if you are driving a private car to a nearby parking spot. But that's Edinburgh all over...
Access
Please call for details. Access seemed to be from pavement to floor with either no or minimal step. I was with a young man with learning as opposed to physical difficulties, but was very impressed with the attitude of the staff and I have no doubt they'd be wiling to assist.
Toilets
Unable to say for sure, as I was fully engaged in supporting my guy socially rather than physically. The staff could not have been more helpful in accommodating his requests regarding food and were also happy to answer questions about how the music was provided - a big thing for this guy! Given the help and respect shown by all staff, and the general layout of the restaurant with parquet-style tiled flat flooring throughout, I would be inclined to give them a try if I was planning a bite to eat in Edinburgh with or as a person using a wheelchair.
Staff
The staff were first class. Very good at their jobs, and treated my friend, who can be quite picky, with respect. I wrote to thank them next day for their part in making our night out very enjoyable.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This eatery is reasonably priced and aims to cut environmental waste. I didn't know that until the manager replied to my thank you message, explaining that the cutlery (which you have to ask for, my only complaint) may appear plastic but is biodegradable. Other than that the food is unpretentious but excellent for a burger joint and very well priced for what it is. I'd go back. And for hat it's worth, I'll also be looking at wheelchair access in all of favourite eateries from now on. Shame on me for not having picked up on that before now.

Great review! I have passed BURGER many times but never ventured in - will be doing so now!
