Overview
The Blackburn and District Blind Society provided sight awareness training for the staff and volunteers at the hall in February 2017. The focus of the training was to give the guides and restaurant staff assistance and an understanding of issues concerning people who have a sight loss, that will in the future enable VI visitors to have a full and interesting visit. During the training Browsholme staff and volunteers were continually exploring ideas that could be extended to visitors which will improve the experience of VI people by allowing them to touch various pieces of antiquity, something that is rare in visitor centres.
Transport & Parking
There is substantial parking places and people who have a disability are allowed to drive to the front of the building
Access
As our experience was for people who have a sight loss, the signage was not of great significance. The hall provides group visits and the guides are trained to assist VI people in locating facilities when required.
Toilets
Staff
