Overview
Lovely accessible coastal walkway.
Transport & Parking
There is plenty of parking spaces around this area, some are free to park in and some you have to pay. However, all is free for blue badge holders. Disabled parking spaces are spread around different car parks in Broughty Ferry. Broughty Ferry has a train station where trains stop from Dundee and Angus areas, they don’t stop very often though. Buses also pass through frequently too from Dundee and Angus areas, stopping at various bus stops.
Access
Over the last couple of years the promenade at Broughty Ferry has been getting updated to make the walkways smoother and wider. The walkways are definitely that as you can see from the photos below. The new walkway starts in Dundee and goes towards Broughty Ferry towards the beach. At the main beach area the walkway is under construction just now however, you can get past it to continue the walkway towards Monifieth by going on the road behind a fenced area. After the beach area you walk along the esplanade area and here there is a separate walkway and cycle path, I must admit this was great as I do have to go in and out of the side of the walkway every time a cyclist comes past usually.
Toilets
There are public toilets beside the beach area of Broughty Ferry, including a Changing Places toilet, but there’s construction happening here just now and I couldn’t see if they were still open.
Staff
This is a public walkway so there is no staff to interact with.
