Overview
Exploring Broughty Ferry beach we followed the new found pathway to head and see how far it went. Running parallel to the beach the path swung inland and then around a corner to reveal the castle sitting high above the harbour. A wheel out on to the breakwater gave some splendid views of the estuary out to see and then along inland to the busyness of Dundee Docks.
Transport & Parking
We parked in the accessible parking bays in the main car park by Broughty Ferry Beach. When we walked around to the Harbour we discovered there were some disabled paring bays alongside the Harbour too. It's a bit off the beaten track for buses so it would be a bit of a walk from the nearest one.
Access
As an open space with views there's not much to be said about the disabled access. We managed to wheel alongside the castle but not up the very steep ramp to explore inside. Going out on to the haarbour breakwater was great as you had some amazing views along the water. Moving around to the opposite side of the harbour, the pavement was pretty good too, we went out on to the harbour breakwater and discovered the white, metallic, viewing tower. Not for me, but one for my pal to climb up and explore. The harbour is handily adjacent to the park too ... ideal for the childrens' play area, go carts, crazy golf and more.
Toilets
Toilets are a ten minute walk in the Broughty Ferry Beach car park.
