Overview
Brickhouse Farm Cottages are a group of accessible cottages set in the Lancashire countryside. They offer self-catering accommodation with excellent accessibility. This is the best accessible self-catering accommodation we've ever stayed in!
Transport & Parking
Plenty of space for parking on hard standing outside the cottages.
Access
The cottages are of varying sizes, and all different in terms of the accommodation and facilities they offer. It's worth checking to find the one that meets your own needs. We stayed in Oak Cottage, which has step-free access throughout the ground floor, with two ground-floor bedrooms. One bedroom has a ceiling hoist with tracking leading into the en suite wet room. There is also a private patio which includes a hot tub with hoist available. Other accessibility aids are available on request, including electric profiling beds.
Toilets
All the cottages have accessible toilets. in the cottage in which we stayed there were two accessible ground floor toilets in the en suite wet room or shower room attached to the two bedrooms; one was raised, and both had rails and space for side transfer.
Staff
Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and with a good level of disability awareness.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
An excellent location for a self-catering holiday, with some of the best accessibility we have ever found. There is also a hydrotherapy pool on site, with a hoist - this can be booked for private use.
