Overview

I was visiting Inveraray as a lunchtime stop on my coach holiday, so I knew time was limited and I needed to find a cafe with an accessible toilet, and thankful there was already a review on Euan's Guide about Brambles, which fitted the bill perfectly. I really enjoyed my lunch there and was only disappointed that I was too full up to try one of there very temping cakes.

Transport & Parking

Sorry I was on a coach trip so I have no idea about how to get here on public transport. I know there isn't a railway station. The minibus dropped us off in a car park close to all the shops and cafes and it was a level walk to Brambles.

Access

The cafe entrance has a slight step, please see photo. There is a manual entrance, single door. Once inside it is step free. The front part has a counter and freestanding tables and chairs. Then continuing towards the back there are a lot more tables. Although the cafe was busy when I arrived there was space between the tables and it did not feel crowded.

Toilets

At the back of the cafe is the accessible toilet. Although it is spacious around the toilet and sink area, with just one small bin. But by the door there was three high chairs and there was a fold down baby changing facility on the wall. There is an emergency cord and plenty of grab rails, although the right hand toilet transfer was a vertical grab bar and a horizontal one would be more easy to access. Toilet was clean, tidy and well maintained.

Staff

The cafe was busy during Sunday lunchtime, but staff were friendly and helpful. Service was pretty quick.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had an open goats cheese sandwich and chips. It was lovely and also well presented. Helpful tip, at first glance the cafe looks small with just a few tables by a counter, however it is like a tardis, there is plenty of room in the back room, so don't be put off if it appears full. Yes would definitely go back. We only had a quick stop but the town of Inveraray was a lovely spot and wished we had longer there.
