Overview
Campsite within 5min walk of village with ‘easy access’ (not disabled) bathroom facilities. We based ourselves here for a long weekend with walks in the local area.
Transport & Parking
Drove in our campervan. There is a bus stop in the village for public transport
Access
Disabled access for ambulant only due to step access to campsite reception, use of gravel on hard standing pitches and some paths in town not having step free access. The communal dishwash room in the central block was step free but no lower height sinks. To access drinking water, there was a separate room that may be more challenging for non ambukent users due to step and a small space/ tap with a self closing door.
Toilets
At the campsite for a £5 deposit you can get a key to ‘easy access bathroom’. There is a small step up to access to building and it’s then step free into the facilities which include a shower, basin, toilet and hairdryer. There are good accessible options incl shower seat (2x options) and rails for the toilet however there is not a red cord for emergency help however this is clearly not labelled a disabled bathroom so this was not expected. There was plenty of space for carer, using shower did cause excess water on floor however there were squeegees / mops to tidy and the room was well heated (incl floor) As access was via key, there was no issues in waiting for others to finish as we were the only users this weekend. There are other toilets and showers available for those without access requirements.
Staff
Staff were welcoming and helpful. They provided advice on easy access bathroom (incl cleaning times of 11-1230)
