Overview
A visit to Bradford Cathedral.
Transport & Parking
Bradford Cathedral is on a hill and in the heart of the city. There are shopping centre carparks reasonably nearby but, given the torrential rain on the day of our visit, we phoned them and asked to park on site. There is one space that can be booked in this way; it was straightforward, and when we arrived we pressed the buzzer and were allowed access through the gates. There was then a short, even path into the cathedral (a bit slopey, but manageable), and level access into the cathedral.
Access
Lots of ramps around most of the building. These can be a bit steep for an independent wheelchair user, but were fine with a bit of support.
Toilets
The accessible toilet was perfect. Spotless, well equipped with a gothic stone window!
Staff
We received a warm welcome. A volunteer called Richard took us around (without being pushy), and answered our questions. There was a shop, which was also accessible.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Bradford Cathedral is a hidden gem with an inclusive attitude. We felt welcome, and had a great day.
