Overview
This BP garage has six fuel stations offering Petrol and Diesel and a 140kW CCS EV Charger with two bays. With a kiosk, M&S Food, Wild Bean Coffee and an accessible toilet, it's an ideal stop on a long journey.
Transport & Parking
Located on the Kingsway, this is mostly a place you stop at if you need fuel, to charge your vehicle or refreshment during a journey. There is a single accessible parking space and four standard parking spaces at the door of the kiosk.
Access
The Forecourt: The fuel pumps in the forecourt all have hoses which can be reached from a seated position. The hoses are supported by strong cables, which retract and take some of the weight. There are no payment methods on the console at the pumps, but payment can be made in the kiosk or from your car when using the BPme app. The fuelService app is registered with this location and allows you to arrange assistance if you need help using the pumps. EV Charging: There is a single 140kW CCS EV charging unit, with two bays, and charging cables on either side. The bays are large and provide room to open a door on either side of the vehicle, however, the bay on the right has several traffic cones stored on the driver's side, which may limit movement. There are two bollards in front of the charger, both of which have a sleeve placed over them advertising the coffee available in the kiosk. The charging unit is elevated, but both cables can be accessed from a seated position. A large screen on the unit provides instructions. The contactless card reader is low on the machine.
Toilets
This location has a small accessible toilet, at the rear of the kiosk upon entering. No key is required, but the door opens outward, which may make it difficult to open without assistance. The door is locked from the inside by raising the lever handle. The floor is level, with no obstructions or stairs. There is space for a left-side transfer, as the right is close to the wall. There is a red pull cord in this toilet, which hangs in the transfer space, where there is also a grab rail. The sensor flush is located behind the toilet seat. An emergency call button can be found on the wall to the left, where there is also a baby change area. A standard-height sink with a sensor tap can be found on the wall to the right, complete with a mirror and grabrails. The soap dispenser, toilet roll holder and hand dryer are wall mounted. There is room to accommodate a carer. There are a lot of items in the one suitable area for transfer, a bin, a baby change table, the red cord and an emergency button. This is rather busy and reduces the transfer space unnecessarily. There are Braille markings outside of this toilet.

I didn't speak with the staff at this location.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This location is well equipped, offering the essentials, fuel, electricity, drinks, snacks and an accessible toilet. A few minor improvements are needed, which would be quick and easy to administer.
