This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Mobility Scooter
Overview
Morgan and Menna are always really helpful but the wooden boards the owner has provided to cover both steps are totally unsuitable and may actually be dangerous.
Transport & Parking
No parking and on road parking is a nightmare. Very close to a bus stop.
Access
A flimsy piece of board from the pavement and another to use on the step inside. One of the wheels of my scooter came off the first board. My scooter got stuck on the first step and staff had to help me push it in. The distance between the first and second step is not enough so that my scooter could drive up the board. On the way out I saw that the incline was too steep to be safe so I had to get off my scooter again to get out.
Toilets
Once inside the loo is fine. No adult sized changing facilities but very few places have these.
Staff
Morgan and Menna are always really helpful and friendly. They told me they have spoken to the owner numerous times to tell him that the boards are not suitable but he has not taken any action to improve this. I advised them to show him this review. If you're reading this, owner, put an awning outside the cafe. People like me can then leave their mobility scooters outside on wet days rather than risk injury. You are very lucky no-one has had an accident but I expect people in wheelchairs and with other mobility issues just avoid Bodlon.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Yes. Morgan and Menna are great and I will continue to go to Bodlon when it isn't raining.
