Overview

Attended a pre season friendly between Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers FC. the ground is very much the same as most modern football grounds that it has stands on all 4 sides of the ground. The ground is a few minutes walk from the Manchester Square Tram stop on the prom. We approached the ground from Broomfield Road at the corner of Woodfield Road there is a small hill to go over but nothing major. There are places to cross the road near the ground. The ground was not busy for this match might even have been more away fans than home.

Transport & Parking

There is a Car park next to the ground with Blue badge spaces available not as there was not a large crowd at this match the car park was almost empty. The Blackpool Tram system on the prom is about 10mins walk away as is the local bus service Blackpool South Train Station is also about 10mins walk away

Access

I had asked for wheelchair access when I purchased the tickets and the tickets were marked with the stand we were in as well as the turnstiles we had to go through. The Stands are marked as are the turnstiles entry points. When we arrived at the turnstile the tickets were checked and the large door opened to allow us in. Once inside it was only a short distance before you found an area with fast food as well as a range of drinks etc. There was a small ramp to go up to our ticket location. This was in the Mathews Stand or main stand normally home support only . Wheelchair spaces are at the front and as a result you have good views over the playing area,

Toilets

There was one wheelchair accessible toilet in the section we were in that while it was basic was useable with normal standard grip rails available. There was a slight smell from the toilet and the floor was wet but this can some times happen in public toilets

Staff

The staff were good and we were in our ticket location area once we entered the ground

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The tickets we got meant that the second ticket for the care giver was free Our tickets were for the main stand normally home support only. I would expect that while 2 of the stands were not in use at this match this will not be the case at normal league games. Would advice anyone going to contact the club directly for advice on individual games as there might be restrictions in place at times.
