Great visit
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
accessible for wheelchairs, friendly helpful knowledgeable staff,
Transport & Parking
Plenty of blue badge spaces available near entrance to site
Access
Step to hut 6, a wheelchair user would need assistance. There are ramps to access all other huts. Block B has a wheelchair lift to access first floor, ground floor fully accessible.
Toilets
Accessible toilets in visitor centre, plenty of other accessible toilets easy to find around the site. All that I used have grab rails and are large enough for a carer and wheelchair if necessary.
Staff
Knowledgeable and helpful staff around the site particularly in the Mansion and Block B
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There is a lake and flower beds in the centre with plenty of seats and deckchairs. There is a coffee shop in the visitor Centre, a cafe serving hot and cold food in hut 4 and a tea room (not always open) in the mansion. There were a lot of visitors but they dispersed over the site and it didn't seem crowded. Too much to see in a day, the ticket is valid for a year so we will be making at least one return visit. All in all a great day out.
