This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair
Overview
Very cramped tea rooms. Lack of awareness among staff. Shop difficult to get round.
Transport & Parking
Large carpark but not many blue badge spaces near entrance. Car park surface rough so diff to push a chair or to walk with sticks.
Access
Ramp to entrance but this is quite steep. Once inside, the tables in the tearoom are packed in - no easy access with a large wheelchair, so had to resort to using walking sticks and struggling. Waiting for tables, (even though half the tea room was completely empty) we were told we could sit in the access route rather than stand but seats are quite low, in among display stands and you have other people squeezing past to get into tea rooms. There were tables that were empty but waiting to be cleared so why couldn't we have been offered the option of going straight to the table and just waiting for it to be cleared? No easy access to shop with large wheelchair either due to lack of space for getting between stands.
Toilets
There is a disabled to toilet but you have to negotiate the tea rooms to get to it.
Staff
Not that helpful and seemed to lack awareness.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We gave up and left.
