Overview

We visited Drumsmittal Farm for the first time to buy a Christmas tree; we usually buy from a shop in Inverness but this year because of Coronavirus and still not having been inside a shop yet, we decided to give the farm a try. It is situated in an idyllic setting on the Black Isle and that made the trip seem even more special and gave it some Christmas magic. The trees were freshly cut and situated in a large barn; we were able to access the barn through a larger opening and there was plenty of room to manoevre and distance socially. The staff member was very helpful, welcoming and understanding about our Covid concerns and advised us re. access and helped us choose a tree.

Transport & Parking

You would need a car to access the farm and take a tree home but there was plenty of parking available on the farm. There was no specific disabled parking as such as it is a farm rather than a commercial car park but the road surface was smooth and I don't think there would be any problem getting a space. If there was a problem at busier times, I'm sure the staff would be happy to help.

Access

It's a farm but the surfaces I accessed were smooth and level and the staff helped me access the trees.

Toilets

Again, it was a farm so no toilets.

Staff

The staff member we spoke to was really welcoming, helpful and friendly and this made the experience extra-special.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

There was a hand-sanitising station at the kiosk and a plastic screen between the staff and visitors. There were also instructions reminding us to follow the pathway, wear masks and clean our hands inside the barn (although one side is meshed so fresh air circulates through the barn). The staff member also wore a mask and was careful to maintain social distance from us. I felt really safe here but more than that, I just loved the experience and I will be back next year, Covid or no Covid! I would definitely recommend it if you want a fresh, good quality tree at a good price and with good service.
