Overview
This is a small community shop with wheelchair access and isles which are just about wide enough to get around.
Transport & Parking
There is parking immediately in front of the store. Although there are a few spaces, the surface is gravel which can be a little tricky to negotiate. There are no designated accessible bays.
Access
The ramp to the front door was manageable using my manual wheelchair. The front door was a little difficult to open, but the staff member came to assist me. The stairs have a banister which has black and yellow taping around it to make it visible for anyone with a visual impairment.
Toilets
There were no public toilets in the store.
Staff
The staff were extremely helpful and immediately offered help reaching the top shelf etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I was really impressed that in a small community in Shetland, they had done all they could to make the local shop accessible. Hats off!
