Overview
I've organised an annual family weekend at Park Hall hotel for the last 5 years for blind & visually impaired young people and families. Before organising it, I attended it for 15 years as a VI person. The hotel is very easy to navigate and I always find the staff extremely helpful. If it wasn't good, we wouldn't keep coming back! There is an enclosed lift to all floors of the hotel, including reception and bar areas) and a platform lift from the reception area to the bar area. At least two public accessible toilets and all restaurants are accessible.
Transport & Parking
There are always lots of spaces available and 2 blue badge spaces available right outside the reception entrance. More parking is available round the back. The hotel itself is a 10-min taxi ride away from Chorley Station, which is served regularly by Preston.
Access
Signage is clear and readable, and all important areas (reception, bar, toilets) are easy to find. The platform lift looks a bit outdated, but the hotel lift itself works perfectly fine and is right next to reception. Hotel room numbers are easy to find, although village room numbers are a bit more difficult. The Jacuzzi in the swimming pool isn't accessible but the rest of the pool is and they have a hoist to transfer people into the pool.
Toilets
Toilets are basic and outdated, but work fine and are easy to locate. Grab rails and red cords dangle to the floor (even in the steam room of the swimming pool).
Staff
Can't fault the staff. They're always uber friendly and can never do enough to help you!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Albeit a bit out of the way, the hotel is a gem and we return every year for a reason.
