Since we launched this brand new tour, we have welcomed some amazing children through our doors. Kate celebrated her 7th birthday on a tour. Archie, aged 6 visited with his Grandmother in preparation for his career in storm chasing and Joey wowed us with his interview skills for his school project!
Our Children's Interactive tour is designed especially for 6-12 year-olds - it's not about the parents, teachers, or grandparents - as lovely as they always are! The tour is filled with fun facts and activities to keep our visitors entertained. Without a doubt, the best part of showing our younger guests around is the incredible questions adults wouldn't dare to ask: "How much do you get paid", "why is the news so boring?" and "why are you so much fatter on the TV?"

"I took my 11 & 7 year old daughters on the children's interactive tour yesterday. We glimpsed the future with my eldest reading the news to camera & my youngest acting as "Diddy Dom". Really memorable time together - very reasonably priced & even saw some famous faces! Would thoroughly recommend - well done BBC!"

"Lots of activities to take part in - radio show, presenting the news and weather, puppet shows. A great family afternoon. Took our grandchildren ages 9 and 13 and both loved it."

We aim to inspire a new generation of TV and radio makers, to get them thinking about how their favourite programmes are made. You will step into the famous BBC news studio and find out how everything works behind the scenes.
The most crucial part of the tour is HAVING FUN our CBBC interactive area is packed with TV favourites Wolfblood and The Dumping Ground which are both filmed locally. You can also try your hand at one of our Horrible Histories: Gory Games! In our interactive TV and radio studio you can try presenting Newsround or would you prefer to be behind the scenes operating the sound effects?
The Children's Interactive Tour runs throughout February Half Term. It lasts approximately one and a half hours and is an ideal family activity. Whatever you do don't forget your camera.
The tour takes place in a working building so we cannot guarantee who or what you will see on the day of your visit but your tour will always be informative and fun.
