Pub Quiz on a Monday with Ross
Visit date:
Overview
I love going to the Barony for the Monday night pub quiz. The weather is nicer so it is starting to get busy. Always best to book a table! £1 per person to enter the quiz. A £50 bar tab for the winners. The rounds cover quiz classics like general knowledge, current affairs, picture and music rounds. It is a bit noisy before and during the quiz which is difficult on the hard of hearing. Good range of food and drinks in a traditional pub decor. There are tables and chairs of mixed height throughout the pub - a couple of tables on the street during nicer weather. The bar itself is quite high to reach. I'm sure the friendly staff would help everyone find space and get service.
Transport & Parking
The tram stops at the top of Broughton Street as do plenty of buses. My friend who drives always seems to park nearby- but this is in non-office hours.
Access
Broughton Street is on a long incline. It could be an issue for a manual wheelchair user. There are no steps to get into the pub and everything is on one level inside.
Toilets
Accessible toilet is available on the far side of the bar (with the other loos). It was clean, there are grab rails, and a low mirror and sink. It also has a baby change table. I don't use a wheelchair but I think enough space to do a donut - and I think enough space to transfer from one side.
Staff
Always found them to be super friendly and accommodating. Ross the Quiz Master is very funny and has great banter - a "West Coast rough diamond" according to my teammate.
