Overview
Not being a Barclays customer I wanted to visit a bank to find out what services were on offer for disabled customers. It was good to see the "on the ground" experience was as good as the adverts - just seen the ad for accessible ATMs ...
Transport & Parking
It's a busy road but there are loads of buses and taxis passing by.
Access
Getting into the branch was easy as the door was wide and open. It was great to be welcomed by a "meeter and greeter" when I wheeled in. Explaining what I wanted to know I was shown the accessible self service machines for getting a statement and other transactions. An accessible lift takes you up to the next floor where you can talk to an advisor and do other banking business. Great to see a dropped counter, a light bright area, and plenty of space.

Top marks to the lady who welcomed me into the branch when I arrived. She was able to answer all my questions, show me the accessible features of the bank and tell me about the other services for disabled people. It didn't feel like a banks I'm used to - it was a friendly and informative experience. Certainly sets a standard for what services can be like for wheelchair users and other disabled people!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Great to hear about the high contrast debit cards for visually impaired customers - already told my friends who are partially sighted!
