Overview

Bamboo Tiger is a furniture store situated on the Wincheap Industrial Park to the West of the City. The furniture and furnishings are delightful and the coffee shop a little gem. Virtually everything is on one level and although some routes may be narrow items can be moved to allow full circulation for a wheelchair. Seating in the coffee shop is all moveable and service friendly. Items once paid for are brought to the table so no struggling with trays and hot coffee.

There are three dedicated parking spaces outside and a level short path to the wide front door.

As detailed above access is splendid.

Toilets

The toilet is adjacent tot he coffee shop and permanently maked "Out of Order"! This is apparently to discourage casual use from adjacent properties but they are open and excellent. The disabled toilet is spacious and clean.

Staff

Staff are friendly and in the coffee shop happy to bring things tot he table, in fact that usually do that for everyone. In the shop they are happy to advise about items and lift, move etc. to show to a person in a chair. As it is a furniture shop there are some large items and some new arrivals in packaging but just as they are used to working arpond they are happy to accommodate clients.

Caterbury is a surprisingly disable unfriendly city. There are insufficient dedicated parking spaces, many only give access to the centre via an underpass, which is difficult in a manual chair. Many of the streets have been relaid with cobbles and small uneven paving to look old and quaint, but that just makes it difficult for a wheelchair. So Bamboo Tiger, just out of the centre with its own superb parking is a magnificent discovery as a place for a coffee.
