Overview
The Palm Court in the Balmoral Hotel is an great experience for the High tea and the service that accompanied it. We were met by the concierge after accessing the ramp near the main entrance, through the wide open door towards the Palm Court room which was accessed by a ramp. Although the tea was pricey, it was excellent with unlimited loose leaf tea or coffee. We received the service you would expect for that price and the surroundings.
Transport & Parking
The nearest bus stops to the Balmoral are no more than 100m in any direction, the railway station is directly below the hotel with lift and escalator access. The Integrated bus station and tram stops are 500m from the hotel, there is a taxi and drop off pointoutside the front door.
Access
Very little signage, though due to the the plethora of staff, they were on hand to guide and direct. There are lifts and ramps throughout where needed.
Toilets
Did not use but understand they are spacious, fully appointed with a high standard of decor and cleanliness.
Staff
A very cosmopolitan staff group, well trained and understanding of their customers, warm, friendly and attentive.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
You may only come here rarely, but it’s worth it, unrushed, lovely surroundings a harpist that plays during your stay a high quality high tea. There is a very informative website for the Palm Court, it has a booking system for High teas and would suggest doing this in advance as it’s a popular Edinburgh meeting place.
