Overview
We are Word on the street a group of 9 adults with a range of abilities. we went on a day trip to Bakewell by bus from Sheffield city center. we enjoyed feeding the ducks and fish with an accessible path along the river . we went on Monday 29th April 2024 which was market day . we really enjoyed looking round, it was a highlight but its worth noting that it was Quite busy . Most shops and cafes were not wheelchair accessible , its an old town with tight gaps and space is limited . However due to the market some roads were pedestrianized which helped . the 218 bus is known for being unreliable . this was our experience which led to big Queues . Its worth ringing Tm Travel up on the day for up to date information . Its worth noting if you are travelling with a plus carer bus pass ,carers need to pay in Derbyshire . there were toilets but take 20ps or a card to pay - radar key was no use . a tip is if a lack of accessibility is an issue, visit in good weather .
