Overview
A beautiful moated house run by the National Trust with famed displays of dahlias in the charming gardens.
Transport & Parking
Parking was close to the house on compacted pea shingle. There were plenty of disabled spaces.
Access
The grounds are mostly accessible but the house itself is not. You an get across the bridge to the inner courtyard easily enough but that’s as far as you can go. The gardens are accessible and well worth a visit. The book and plant shops were accessible but we didn’t visit the cafe.
Toilets
Nicely kept, clean loo, with grab rails and alarm. There is a changing table for babies that is substantial enough for slightly older children but would not work for an adult.
Staff
Friendly, helpful, disability aware . Nothing was too much trouble. The garden tour was very informative .
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There is a lovely kitchen garden to visit too.
