Accessible Offices

Overview
My Employer has a permanent office here but I mostly work from home as I can only work a few hours each week/month. As offices go they are great. There's free tea and coffee on all the residents and a good cafe in house on the ground floor for visitors. The whole building is dog friendly so I have taken my dog in with me a few times. Some offices look like they often have dogs in. The wheelchair access is at the back of the building and not easy to get through if you have any limitation in upper body strength and mobility. There are double glass doors and only one side opens - the door access pad is on the opposite side to the opening door so it's a stretch. The door that opens is heavy and not very wide. The door threshold is not level and in my powerchair I have to line up to go straight to get over the threshold and fit through the door. Access at the front is via 2 short flights of stone stairs - one outside and one inside the building. There is no access ramp at the front, I think the front of the building is listed as are many of the older buildings in Leeds city centre, it's common to find the accessible access at the back of the building in Leeds city centre. Once inside the staff are very helpful and accommodating and I've found a clean disabled toilet on each floor I've visited though they are not all very spacious. I have managed as I can transfer out of my wheelchair and take a couple of steps when I need to. Only real downside is that there is a rooftop bar but with no lift access so I've never been up there.
Transport & Parking
There's on street parking on the roads around the access road to the back and Leeds CIty Council allows free on street parking wiht a blue badge, local restrictions allowing.
Access
As above - you need to have good upper body strength and mobility. When there was building work next door it was easy as the builders always helped out but there's not usually many people around.
Toilets
Clean but some are not very big. Room to get a wheelchair in but no hoist in any I've seen, but I haven't checked them all out.
Staff
Staff are friendly and helpful. Once when the lift at the disabled entrance was out of action they took me down the other lift into the basement car park and walked me out through the garage - my pass doesn't give me access.
