This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
The Car park under the store has a number of blue badge spaces there is an exit from the car park to the bottom of the travelator that takes you in to the store. However there are notices on the travelator that they are not suitable for wheelchair users so as a result from this area you need to go out the door turn to your right and use the ramp next to the door to go up to the main entrance to the store the ramp is in 3 sections and is not that wide. At the main entrance to the there are trollies that you can attach to a wheelchair. The store also has two scooters that customer can use in the store these are made available via the customer service desk which is to the left of the main entrance
Transport & Parking
There are a number of Blue badge spaces located in the car park under the store. These are on the left hand side as you drive in to the car par. There is good lighting in this area and normal plenty of people around during the day time. As with all the parking in the store car park it is meant to be for Customers only and there is a time limit set as well if you are over the time you will be fined. This is operated by a private company for Asda.
Access
The access to the store is good and there is plenty of signage to show where everything is with in the store. Like also stores however things do change location from time to time. Check out number 12 is marked as a wheelchair as wheelchair accessible and is wider than the rest
Toilets
There is one accessible toilet located next to the rest of the customer toilets in the store these are behind the checkouts. There is a good amount of room in this toilet with the sink and hand dryers at a level to suit people in wheelchairs.
Staff
The Staff in the store are very helpful and do there best to help people with disabilities in the store. The staff also get to know regular customer as well
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The main entrance to the store is in a pedestrian area, the store is open 24 hours. They do however close the main entrance at around 10pm. So the only way in is via the travelator from the car park but this is not suitable for wheelchairs as per information given on the travelator
