Kintyre Hotel right on the beach which tries hard to be disabled friendly and just about succeeds!

Overview
Mostly wheelchair accessible hotel (at the time of our visit to access the restaurant area from our downstairs room was via a set of double doors at the side of the hotel). Very warm welcome from the owners and lovely staff. Views to die for right on the beach which are West facing so you often see the most amazing sunsets. Food very good.
Transport & Parking
You are able to park right outside the hotel, which is on a road just set back from the main road to Campbeltown. Although the disabled room is downstairs (without a seaview), it's quite a quiet road. There was a bus stop situated outside.
Access
There are no lifts in the hotel. Access to the main bedrooms were via a steep(ish) set of stairs. The disabled room is located at the foot of the stairs and near the main door so if there is a lot of traffic (or someone has indulged in the ample whisky collection at the hotel) it can be a bit noisy but most guests are aware and keep the noise to a minimum. To access the sitting/restaurant area from the disabled room means negotiating a few steps (3 from memory). With my husband being in a wheelchair we had to access the restaurant through a set of patio doors at the side of the restaurant however, we soon got used to this and the owners/staff were always very helpful.
Toilets
We only used the toilet in our room. (I don't think there was a separate disabled toilet but that may not be the case.)
Staff
From when we booked the hotel, enquiring about the disabled room, Nick, one of the owners, did everything he could to ensure our stay would be a good one. On arrival we were shown to our room and then given a quick tour of the hotel. We dined at the hotel on both nights we stayed as, after the first night we didn't want to eat anywhere else! Staff very attentive and made sure that they kept a table for us that allowed my husband in his wheelchair easy access (and a lovely view from the amazing restaurant windows!).
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The disabled room is very long and thin, with just about enough room to turn around in a manual wheelchair. The shower area in the wet room had no handles on the wall but we always take a pair of suction handles (available from Argos) with us just in case! Again, no handles around the toilet - perhaps the owners could invest in a toilet seat frame that they put in the room in case any disabled guests need them? Enjoyed a trip in Campbeltown (although the parking can be quite bad) and down to Machrihanish but the real joy of this hotel is that you can sit in the restaurant, or on the terrace (which is accessible by wheelchair ramp or a few steps), or on the beach and enjoy amazing views and, if you're lucky some beautiful sunsets.
