Overview
Upon visiting the leisure centre with a disabled friend, there was disabled parking close to the building with ramp access and rails. Upon entering the building true level access continued throughout and we were welcomed by a friendly helpful member of staff. Demonstration of all aspects were covered. Disabled changing rooms with all adequate equipment at hand and the pool access was very close from the changing room, excellent room size. Hoists were at hand and demonstrated. The changing room/toilet also includes an emergency alarm. A full descriptive booklet was given and all disabled concessions discussed explaining that carers are free. There is a hearing loop system also in place. A very disabled friendly and accommodating place, that I would definitely advise people to visit.
Transport & Parking
Drove into the car park and the disabled bays were close to the ramp access.
Access
The ramp had yellow rails and there were signs showing you the way to the entrance. There are also stairs with rails. A hear looping system is at the front desk and signposted clearly.
Toilets
The disabled changing room had plenty of space for a wheelchair user and a carer and additional drop down rails were in situ.
Staff
The lady on reception welcomed us upon entering the building and answered all our questions clearly, providing us with additional information to take away and asked prior to swimming and discussed any concerns we had.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would definitely recommend this venue to everyone, the building is well setup for disabled users and staff are very accommodating.
