Overview
Arrived late morning, got a disabled parking space which are clearly signed disabled but they're still just a patch of grass near the entrance not a hard surface nor painted but it was good enough. Staff friendly on way in, carer goes free no quibbles. Entrance is via big decked area perfect for wheelchairs although can be slippery when wet. Once inside there is a cafe, toilets & gift shop in the decking area. You then follow a obe way system to the left towards parrots & big cats at the end of the deck the paths turn to concrete unfortunately they tried to be clever by pressing shapes into the wet concrete which has left the paths rather uneven for wheelchairs/scooters although it does stop them from being slippy. There's a few steep paths in the zoo hut alternative routes to avoid them. If in a manual wheelchair I'd avoid the footpath that goes behind the flamingos as it's very uneven & narrow between roots & trees at a few spots. The indoor tropical area is accessible by a big ramp & is OK to get around inside too it dies get snug in places but it's very doable Overall the place is very accessible & a pleasant trip its not really a full day out more a half day
