Overview
I'm trying to become more independent and tried a new supermarket. Outside there was disabled parking right outside the door; I was able to park easily. The wheelchair trolleys need a pound to release, this means the trolleys are the wrong way around. You have go try and manoeuvre your wheelchair backwards whilst pulling the trolley, turn it around and then attach it. The store is on one level and easy to enter/leave. Unfortunately this was the most frustrating shopping experience I have had since needing a wheelchair. All the refrigerated foods are in coolers with double doors that open outwards. This means they open into your wheelchair and you can't access the products. Other shoppers saw my difficulty and commented on the terrible design before offering to get products out for me. No member of staff offered any help. I ended up not buying a number of items on my list and went home frustrated and disappointed.
