Venue Description
The AJ Bell Stadium is an 11,400 capacity stadium which opened in December 2011 and is the home of both Sale Sharks Rugby Union Club and Salford Red Devils Rugby League Club.
The stadium is also used for International events (Rugby League World Cup and Rugby Union International 7s). Both Manchester United and Manchester City have used the stadium for Under 21 fixtures, and the Football Association employed the stadium to host the England / Holland Women’s International fixture.
Accessibility
The Stadium consists of 4 Stands: Maggies North Stand – Standing terraces. Wellsprings South Stand – Standing Terraces. MBNA East Stand – Seating. West Stand – Seating – Corporate Areas – Bars / Dining and Exec Boxes. Disabled / carer seating is situated in front of Maggie’s North / Wellsprings South and West Stands. Elevated disabled / carer seating platforms are situated at each end of the MBNA East Stand, served by two access lifts. Disabled / carer seating is situated on the 2nd Floor balcony of the West Stand. All Exec boxes on the 3rd Floor have accessible viewing points for disabled spectators.
Toilets
Toilets on the premises have step free access. The doors are wide enough for both a manual wheelchair and powerchair. There are grab rails, a raised toilet seat and easy turn taps.
Staff
All Stadium personnel have completed disability / equality training.
