Overview

I went to see Kinky Boots at the Adelphi, and it was an excellent experience. Right from the start, the box office knew exactly what I was after from the wheelchair + companion tickets (which were reasonably priced) and asked if I wanted a wheelchair space or the opportunity to transfer into a seat at the end of a row. The stalls don't have any stairs - just gently sloping aisles - plus there was an excellent disabled loo and pleasant, well-trained staff. So nice not to have any hassles and just to be able to relax and enjoy a good show.

Transport & Parking

It wasn't that easy to find somewhere nearby for a car to drop me off and set up my folding scooter, but that's not the theatre's fault - it's just how it is in central London. There are plenty of bus stops nearby, and London buses do all have ramps, so that's how I got home (very slow but otherwise fine).

Access

Gentle ramp to get in from the street, step-free access to the stalls

Toilets

Spacious, clean and looked like it has recently been redecorated. The staff all knew about it and noticed that I needed a bit of a hand with the door.

Staff

Helpful and well-trained. Everyone knew what they had on offer for disabled visitors but they weren't overbearing - they just gave help as needed.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would be delighted to go there again - best London theatre for access that I have visited.
