Overview
Definitely worth a visit. It has good access. Although at entrance if you have a visual impairment or are unsteady on your feet be aware of the mat sticking up as this is a possible hazard.
Transport & Parking
Plenty parking spaces and accessible parking very close to museum door. There is no public transport routes nearby as the venue is in the countryside.
Access
Entrance is through wide automatic doors with level access. On entering the door there is a large mat area, I presume for anti slip, although it has a bit of a raised edge and I feel could be a potential hazard to people with visual impairment. There is a supply of mobility scooters which can be requested at reception desk. The museum route is a zig zag and a you make your way up a slight slope which can be a minor issue if stopping to look at an exhibit. There is a cinema room that has film of a re enactment of the battle which makes you feel you're in the middle of it all.
Toilets
Ample amount of space with everything needed to hand.
Staff
As with all of the National Trust Scotland staff I have encountered so far, they have been extremely helpful and friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
With regards to the cinema room, It is well done but quite loud. There are warning signs outside it that it could be unsuitable for small children due to battle scenes. When going out to the battlefield you will receive a headset that will give audio description and commentary at certain points of the route. The route itself has small gradients due to it being out in a field.
