What's on in February

London: Relaxed Family Screening: Bill
Saturday 11th February, 2017, 11.30am, National Theatre
An energised film brought to you from some of the team behind Horrible Histories, Bill is a story about ‘what really happened’ during Shakespeare’s ‘lost years’. The screening will have a relaxed attitude to noise and movement, and there will be small adjustments to light and sound effects.
London: Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox – Audio Described
Saturday 18th February, 2017, 7.00pm, Lyric Hammersmith
A Roald Dahl favourite, “you know as well as I do: no-one outfoxes a fox!”, will be Audio Described at Lyric Hammersmith this February. There will also be a touch tour before Fantastic Mr Fox to familiarise yourself with the set and costumes!
Gaydon: Brick Week
Saturday 18th February – Sunday 26th February, 2017, 10.00am, British Motor Museum
Do you love LEGO? The British Motor Museum in Gaydon has been described as ‘outstanding’ by disabled access reviewers on Euan’s Guide, and will be holding a week of LEGO brick building challenges! You can help the team build a life size Mini out of LEGO bricks.
Conwy: Love the Lake
Tuesday 21st February, 2017, 2.00pm, RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve
If you want to get outdoors this February, RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve are inviting you to get your hands dirty with activities to discover the story of the lake. One reviewer told us, “you can easily get to and see from all the screens and hides on the reserve and the paths are easy for me, as an active wheelchair user to go over.”
Manchester: Funny Girl – Audio Described
Friday 24th February, 2017, 7.30pm, Palace Theatre
Find yourself singing along to ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ in Manchester this February as Funny Girl tours the UK. The performance will be Audio Described on February 24th.
London: Heart on my Sleeve – BSL Interpreted
Thursday 23rd February, 2017, 6.00pm, Wellcome Collection
A fascinating BSL interpreted event at the Wellcome Collection explores individuality and invites you to create a personalised brooch that represents your unique human experience. “A dodgy tummy or heart murmur could be the inspiration for a fashionable accessory!”
