Breaking ground at The Rings of Cupar
We were pleased to be at the breaking of the ground for inspiring new accommodation "The Rings" near Cupar this morning.
The Rings is the brain child of Moira Henderson who wanted to build some accessible holiday accommodation after experiencing the trials and tribulations of trying to find accessible accommodation when holidaying with her late cousin Alec. Fast forward a couple of years, some planning hurdles, some enthusiastic supporters and The Rings is soon to be a reality!
It is situated in a tranquil and beautiful spot just a few minutes from Cupar. The accommodation is designed to be as flexible as possible and, as well as being able to be hired as a whole, can break down into 12 different booking options. As well as accessibility, making the most of the surrounding countryside has been a priority with the design - the floor to ceiling glass windows will allow visitors to wake up to some truly spectacular views!
It was also great to catch up with the architects - Chambers McMillan - who are well known from "The Ramp House" in Portobello. They brought with them their architects' models & drawings which brought the designs to life.
Fergus Ewing MSP, the Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, laid a stone on the cairn, unveiled the plaque and was the first to break ground.

It was great to see so many people supporting the event including VisitScotland, Shared Care Scotland, the Homelands Trust and many more...
The Rings is due to be completed in Summer 2015, for more information please contact Moira Henderson.
