Events & Exhibitions Round Up

Well… Apologies for not posting for a wee while… But yet another busy couple of weeks!

It started on Wednesday 18th September when we went over to Naidex Scotland held at the SECC in Glasgow. As the organiser's say, "Naidex Scotland is the leading independent living event in Scotland and the event for the who’s who in health and social care. Additionally, we are the essential event for those that manage their own care or have a need to use independent living products."

This was our first ever exhibition so thank you very much to everyone who stopped by to say hello. It was great to meet so many friends old and new and your feedback was just outstanding!

A special shout out to some of our fellow exhibitors including: Able Magazine, Ability Magazine, Ability Needs Magazine, Blackwood Foundation, Calvert Trust Kielder, College of Occupational Therapists, Enable Magazine, Grainge Villa Florida, Leuchie House, MS Society Scotland, PosAbility Magazine, Spinal Injuries Scotland and The New Mayfair Hotel.

And to everyone who entered our prize draw to win 'A night's dinner, bed & breakfast' at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel keep your fingers crossed - we're wishing you luck and you'll be notified when we draw the winner later this year. And… Speaking of winners… It would appear that Lady Luck was also smiling down on us! Able Magazine were also exhibiting at the show and were running a competition… Ta Dah! We're pleased to announce that we're the lucky winner of some advertising in their next issue… Thanks guys - much appreciated!

Last week we then went to the Edinburgh Volunteer Fair run by the Edinburgh Volunteer Centre. This event was in stark contrast to the previous week's show - a much more low key event targeted (funnily enough!) at organisations looking for volunteers and residents of Auld Reekie looking for a worthwhile volunteering role.

We were a bit different from many organisations who were exhibiting in that we were not looking for a set time commitment from people. We can be much more flexible and are looking for volunteers to be reviewers... You could either submit one review or 100 - they're all gratefully received!

Again - a big shout out to some of our fellow exhibitors with whom we had great chats and thanks in particular to the Edinburgh Volunteer Centre gang for making us feel so welcome!
